Black Stone Cherry

This is the first album by the four-piece from Kentucky. Chris Robertson sings and plays lead guitar, Ben Wells plays rhythm guitar, Jon Lawhon plays bass and John Fred Young drums, and all four sing. Reese Wynans of Double Trouble plays Hammond B3 organ on "Rollin' On" and "Tired of the Rain". Three singles came from it: "Lonely Train", "Hell and High Water" and "Rain Wizard". By 2008 the album had sold around 110,000 copies. "Lonely Train" was the official theme song for WWE's The Great American Bash in 2006 and later turned up in the video game WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. It is hard rock out of southern soil, with the weight of the blues under it and harmonies over the top. The running order here is the original's as printed.
