Doom of Destiny

LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Doom of Destiny is a fulfilling work on which Axxis combines gorgeous, splendid keyboards, hard, powerful guitar and soaring singing. The songs develop dramatically and largely, yet at their center clear, powerful melody and big choruses are always firmly placed. Bernhard Weiss’s soaring vocals powerfully drive the whole. A record where the band’s mature ability shines. From the powerful drive of the opener “Voices of Destiny” and the striking title track “Doom of Destiny (Arabia),” taking in a Middle Eastern melody, to a cut like “Blood Angel,” every song is engaging, while cuts like “The Fire Still Burns” and “Better Fate” convey the work’s fullness. In particular, the deep shading shown in the likes of “Blood Angel” powerfully conveys the band’s sure maturity, not brightness alone. A record that enfolds the rich appeal of European melodic rock in truly vivid, varied color. Grand scale and catchy accessibility are united at an extremely high level. An engaging, fulfilling work of Axxis where new attempts, such as the Middle-Eastern-style arrangement, also shine — a record where the band’s varied appeal shines.
