OVERLOAD

Overload is Anthem's ninth studio album, released on 9 October 2002 by Victor Entertainment as VICP-62023, produced by Naoto Shibata. It arrived about fourteen months after Seven Hills, the first album of the band's second era, at the point where the line-up of Shibata, Akio Shimizu, Eizo Sakamoto and Hirotsugu Homma was settling in. "The Voices" appeared as a single on 21 August 2002 and sits second on the album; Victor made an official music video for it. The record opens with "Revenge", runs through "Demon's Ride" and "Rough And Wild", and reaches the title track by way of the instrumental "Ground Zero". Both "Overload" and "Demon's Ride" were later treated as signatures of the band's second era and picked up by compilations and by the re-recorded Nucleus. The live album Live' Melt Down, drawn from this period, followed on 21 May 2003.
