Backtracks is AC/DC's collection of rarities, released by Columbia and Albert Productions on 10 November 2009 in two editions, a limited deluxe collector's edition and a three-disc standard version. This is the standard version's content, two CDs and a DVD, in its 2017 pressing.
The studio-rarities CD gathers songs that had been available only on Australian-only LPs, film soundtracks, singles and CD 'tour editions', the instrumental "Fling Thing" and "Love Song" among them. The live-rarities CD runs from "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" at the Sydney Festival on 30 January 1977 to "Safe in New York City" recorded in Phoenix in 2000. The DVD, Family Jewels Disc 3, picks up where the two-DVD Family Jewels left off in 1991, with videos and live clips from "Big Gun", the theme of Last Action Hero, to 2009. The CDs carry 27 tracks.
