NAPALM DEATHのベーシストにしてソングライターであるシェーン・エンベリーが、キャリアで初めて自身の名義で発表したソロ・アルバム。Dissonance Productions／Cherry Redより2026年6月26日発売、全8曲を収録する。演奏はエンベリー自身がヴォーカル、シンセ、ギター、ベースを担い、パーカッションを元CANCERのカール・ストークスが務めた。個人的に厳しい時期に構想された作品で、2023年の自伝『Life?...And Napalm Death』でも触れた依存症やメンタルヘルスの問題を主題に据え、ユング心理学でいう「影の統合」の考え方を手がかりに自己を掘り下げていく内容となっている。音楽的にはNAPALM DEATHの苛烈さとは異なり、THE MISSIONやCOCTEAU TWINS、SWANS、KILLING JOKEといったニュー・ウェイヴ／ポスト・パンク方面の感触が濃く出た一枚だ。

The first solo album Shane Embury — bassist and songwriter of Napalm Death — has released under his own name. Dissonance Productions and Cherry Red issued it on 26 June 2026 with eight tracks. Embury handles vocals, synths, guitar and bass himself, with percussion from Carl Stokes, formerly of Cancer. It was conceived during a difficult personal period and takes up subjects he also wrote about in his 2023 autobiography Life?...And Napalm Death, among them addiction and mental health, working through them by way of the Jungian idea of shadow integration. Musically it sits far from Napalm Death's ferocity, closer to the new wave and post-punk textures of The Mission, Cocteau Twins, Swans and Killing Joke.
