Underneath is the debut album by Ylisia, a five-piece symphonic heavy metal band from the Netherlands formed in 2021 with a woman on lead vocals and a woman on drums. The Gathering, Evanescence and Within Temptation are the names they cite as influences, and appearances at 1FemME, Bevrijdingsfestival Wageningen and Nieuwveen Live built their reputation before this record. WormHoleDeath Records released it on 6 December 2024; WormHoleDeath Japan issued it here on 30 June 2025 as a direct import with Japanese specification, BITX-1382. It is a concept album, all nine songs written by keyboard player George van Olffen, carried by clear singing, lyrical melody and dramatic turns. "September" the band describe as a song about denial, recovery and private struggle, with last September standing in for all of it.
