Insanium is the debut album by Whom Gods Destroy, the band Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Derek Sherinian put together after Mike Portnoy's return to Dream Theater ended Sons of Apollo. The name comes from the Latin proverb: whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad. Dino Jelusick sings — he won the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest at ten, sang everything on Michael Romeo's 2022 album, and has toured as Whitesnake's keyboard player and backing vocalist. Bruno Valverde of Angra plays drums and Yas Nomura, a Japanese bassist and guitarist based in Los Angeles who also tours with HYDE, plays bass. InsideOutMusic released it on 15 March 2024 and Sony Music Labels issued the Japanese edition, SICP-31708, on 24 April on high-quality Blu-spec CD2, fitting onto one disc the song "Requiem" that elsewhere appears only on the two-disc deluxe. Ten tracks, about fifty-eight minutes.
