Volbeat's God of Angels Trust arrived on 6 June 2025 — their ninth studio album and the first in roughly four years. Sony Music Labels issued the Japanese edition the same day as SICX-209, with Japanese liner notes, translated lyrics and, on the first pressing, a special artist poster; Vertigo Berlin and Universal Music GmbH handled the international release. The band set their usual method aside for it, piling up riffs and momentum ahead of structure across the ten tracks. Serial killers, out-of-body experiences and a visit from the reaper sit in the lyrics beside far more personal matter: a father's death, mental illness, spiritualism, and the rescue the band describe in having children. "By a Monster's Hand" came with an official music video, and the closing "Enlightening the Disorder" is its second part.
