Wheels Within Wheels is the first album by Vitalines, a melodic rock project built by the singer Robbie LaBlanc — of Blanc Faces, Find Me and T3nors — with Tommy Denander, long known as a producer, songwriter and engineer. The two had wanted to make a pure melodic rock record together for years and kept waiting for the right moment: the pandemic closed things down, and when it lifted they were both too busy, so the idea only became a record in 2023. It is written in open acknowledgement of Toto, Journey, Survivor and Foreigner, and it is full of what that implies — melody, guitar riffs, keyboards with plenty of flourish and a very fine vocal performance. Marquee Inc. released the Japanese edition on 20 October 2023 as MICP-11826, adding an acoustic "When Spirits Fight" as a bonus track for twelve tracks in all.
