Pirates II - Armada is the sequel to Visions of Atlantis's 2022 album Pirates, a concept record whose subtitle is the Spanish and Portuguese word for a fleet and whose story sets pirates against the Spanish Armada. The band debuted with Eternal Endless Infinity in 2002 and, after many changes of personnel, has kept the same five players since Wanderers in 2019, two of them singers who share the lead. The title track was the first single, its video using computer imagery to show the pirates of the story colliding with a great fleet at sea. Napalm Records issued the album internationally on 5 July 2024; Marquee Inc. had already released the Japanese CD two days earlier, on 3 July, as MICP-11889. Twelve tracks, with no Japan-only bonus.
