Dreadful Company is the second album by Verni, the solo project of D.D. Verni, the bassist and chief writer of the thrash metal band Overkill, and his first in six years after Barricade in 2018. As on that record he wrote everything, played guitar and sang; his Overkill bandmate Jason Bittner drums, and Charlie Benante of Anthrax, Virus of Dope and Michael Romeo of Symphony X guest on it. Charlie Calv, now of Angel, plays piano on a cover of Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "Takin' Care of Business". Verni produced the album and Chris "Zeuss" Harris mixed and mastered it; the songs are fast and built for singing along, with his punk roots further forward than before. Eleven tracks, about 45 minutes. M-Theory Audio released it on 26 July 2024, and Bickee Music brought it to Japan as an import for Japanese distribution with an obi, liner notes and an interview, BKMY-1140, on 23 August 2024.
