Tuomio

Tuomio is the fourth album by Verikalpa, the Finnish folk metal band. They date back to 2006 but did not really start until more than a decade later: a run of singles in 2017, a deal with Inverse Records at home, and then Taistelutahto in 2018, which drew enough attention across Europe to take them to Scarlet Records in Italy. Tuoppitanssi in 2020 and Tunturihauta in 2022 settled their place in the style. This one is relentlessly aggressive and at the same time the easiest record of theirs to walk into — the drink, the blood and the particular Finnish melancholy are all where they have always been. Scarlet Records and Ward Records in Japan released it on the same day, 19 April 2024, the Japanese edition as GQCS-91460. Twelve tracks, about fifty-four minutes.
