Always Look Up is the first Van Zant album in seventeen years, made by the brothers Johnny Van Zant, now the singer in Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Donnie Van Zant, a founder member of 38 Special. Both are younger brothers of the late Ronnie Van Zant, the original Lynyrd Skynyrd singer. They debuted in 1998 with Brother to Brother, dedicated to Ronnie, who died in the 1977 plane crash, and followed it with Van Zant II in 2001, Get Right with the Man in 2005 and My Kind of Country in 2007, drifting steadily further towards country. This record takes Christian faith as its subject and sets it to the southern rock the brothers grew up in, with blues and country worked through it. Ward Records released the Japanese edition on 22 November 2024 as GQCS-91537, the same day as the rest of the world. Eleven tracks, with Love Never Ends added as a Japan-only bonus. Official videos accompany Awesome God and Jesus Christ.
