LINER NOTES
VALKYRIE ZERO are a four-piece thrash metal band from Osaka: Aya Ozeki on guitar and vocals, MIHO on guitar, COR on bass and backing vocals, and SHUKO on drums. LAST WAY FORWARD is their second full-length record, following the debut ATTACK OF VALKYRIE (SRCD-034) of 28 June 2023 and the mini-album VALKYRIE ZERO (SRCD-037) of 16 April 2025. Eight of the ten tracks are new. The other two, Amakusa Riot and O, first appeared on the 2025 mini-album and are listed here as Album Versions. Excerpts from three of the new songs — Echoes of the River in March 2026, Saba-Daikon in April and Overshock in May — went up on the band's own YouTube channel ahead of the release, the March clip still calling the record an EP. Aya Ozeki, who plays guitar and sings, writes on her blog that it was planned as an EP and grew into an album because the members' physical condition had brought the band to its limits, so they set out to do everything they still wanted to do, and that this may be their last recording.
