Heavy Chains was Valentino Francavilla's first solo album, self-released in 2018 and long hard to find; Ward Records rebuilt it for Japan on 11 April 2025 as a two-disc set pairing the original seven songs — written, sung and played by the Italian guitarist himself — with a second disc recorded in Japan.

Heavy Chains was Valentino Francavilla's first solo album, self-released in 2018 and long hard to find; Ward Records rebuilt it for Japan on 11 April 2025 as a two-disc set pairing the original seven songs — written, sung and played by the Italian guitarist himself — with a second disc recorded in Japan. That live disc, Live in Japan 2024, comes from his appearance at the RIOT Festival, where he supported Riot and shared the stage with Nozomi Wakai and CHARGEEEEEE..., and it includes a reading of Deep Purple's "Burn". Japanese listeners had met him through Midnight Dreams the year before. Three products went on sale the same day: the 2CD (GQCS-91591), a three-disc edition with Blu-ray (GQCS-91593) and a three-disc edition with DVD (GQCS-91596), each with translated lyrics and a Japanese commentary booklet. "Thunderstrike" and "Light Blue" have official videos.
