LINER NOTES
Each of the twelve Deep Purple songs on Cleopatra Records' Purple Storm has a cast of its own. Bernie Shaw, Rick Wakeman, Mick Box and Simon Phillips share "Black Night"; Ronnie Romero and Jonathan Cain are on "Child In Time", Oni Logan and Jordan Rudess on "Perfect Strangers" and Arthur Brown and Carmine Appice on "Hush"; "Highway Star" brings together Girish Pradhan, Gus G., Billy Sheehan, Derek Sherinian and Chris Adler, and Jason McMaster, Marty Friedman and Rudy Sarzo are among those on the closing "Stormbringer". The label made it as the follow-up to its Rainbow tribute, Ride The Rainbow.
Three songs reached listeners first. Angel's "Woman From Tokyo" came out in August 2026 on a limited 12-inch single that sold out at once; Graham Bonnet then sang "Smoke On The Water" with Vinny Appice, Joe Bouchard, George Lynch and Sherinian, produced by Jürgen Engler, and L.A. Guns recorded "Space Truckin'" as a band, produced by Adam Hamilton. The US CD (CLO7610CD), Ultra-Vybe's import for Japanese distribution with an obi (CLO7610CDJ) and the coloured double-vinyl LPs are all dated 13 November 2026.
