Lights Out (2024 Remaster) is the double-disc rebuild of the album UFO released in May 1977, their biggest to that point and the one that took them to number 23 in the United States. It settled Michael Schenker's standing as the most exciting guitarist in hard rock, and it was a turning point in other ways too: Paul Raymond had come in for Danny Peyronel, and Ron Nevison had taken over production from Leo Lyons, who made the three albums before it. The title song came out of the Notting Hill riots of August 1976 — the same events that gave the Clash "White Riot" — and the record closes with "Love to Love", the song Steve Harris of Iron Maiden picks out above every other he knows. The first disc is Andy Pearce's new remaster from the original tape transfers; the second is the London Roundhouse show of 2 April 1977, newly mixed by Richard Whittaker. Chrysalis released it on 2 February 2024. Twenty-four tracks, about an hour and fifty-eight minutes.
