Champion is the second Turbokill album and the first in five years. The German band formed in 2016 and pressed a self-titled EP themselves in 2018, which led to a deal with Steamhammer and the debut album Vice World in 2019. What they play runs straight down the line from Accept to Helloween, and singer Stefan Dietrich describes this one as catchy modern heavy metal built around hooks. Karl Walterbach, who ran Noise Records, manages the band, and Lars Rettkowitz of Freedom Call mixed and mastered the album. It came out on 27 September 2024; Ward Records issued the Japanese CD (GQCS-91561) on 31 January 2025 with a commentary booklet and translated lyrics, launched as the first title in a series recommended by the Japanese writer Makoto "Captain" Wada. There is a music video, a lyric video and a visualizer.
