The Grand Inferno is the fourth album by Tungsten, the Swedish band built around drummer Anders Johansson — known for his work with Yngwie Malmsteen and HammerFall — his sons Karl on bass and screams and Nick on guitar, and singer Mike Andersson. They formed as Strokkur in 2016, debuted with Vantablack in 2017, took the Tungsten name in 2019 for We Will Rise, and followed it with Tundra (2020) and Bliss (2022). This record keeps their mix of traditional heavy and power metal with progressive metal and Swedish folk music. Ward Records released the Japanese edition on 8 November 2024 as GQCS-91523, moved back from an originally announced 18 October. Eleven tracks, four of them — the title track, Vantablack, Lullaby and Blood Of The Kings — with official music videos.
