LINER NOTES
The Next Level is the second Timson AOR album and the first of them to be pressed in Japan. The duo is Mark Timson, from Nottingham in England, and the Chilean singer Lukky S.; their debut Forever's Not Enough was never issued here, and its reception among melodic rock listeners abroad is what earned this one a Japanese release. The two of them play everything — guitars, bass, keyboards and programming — and aim at the sound of 1980s AOR without the production sounding like a period piece. Marquee Incorporated put the Japanese CD (MICP-11945) out on 26 February 2025, two days before the worldwide release, adding an unreleased full-band version of "From the Ashes" as a bonus track for twelve tracks and forty-seven minutes, plus a commentary booklet and translated lyrics. Five songs have videos on the band's own channel.
