Thin Lizzy's self-titled first album reached shops on 30 April 1971 through Decca, cut in London under producers Scott English and Nick Tauber. The founding three-piece made it: Phil Lynott on bass and vocals, Eric Bell on guitar, Brian Downey on drums. A follow-up EP, New Day, arrived that August, produced and recorded by Nick Tauber at Decca Studios. The 55th-anniversary set collects both. CD1 carries a 2026 remaster and, after it, Richard Whittaker's new stereo mix of the same ten songs. CD2 runs from the Irish debut single "The Farmer" and its B-side "I Need You" through the four New Day tracks, his mixes of them, and BBC sessions for Stuart Henry and John Peel, the latter recorded on 12 October 1971. CD3 is eleven studio outtakes, among them the unreleased "Beggar's Song". An audio-only Blu-ray adds Atmos, 5.1 surround, stereo and Atmos instrumental mixes; the label say this album had no Atmos version before. The Japanese pressing, out 10 July 2026 as UICY-80758, puts the three CDs on SHM-CD and adds Japanese versions of the English liner notes and lyrics. A rigid ten-inch box holds a 40-page hardcover book by Mojo's Mark Blake. Forty-seven tracks across the three CDs.
