The Nail is the debut album by the Frontiers Records project of the same name, sung by Girish Pradhan of Girish and The Chronicles, a voice heard in recent years on Joel Hoekstra's records and able to move from a high wail to a husky low register. Kip Winger called the project into being and worked on it as director. The playing is by the Erol brothers, Efe on guitar and Reis Ali on bass and drums, who first appeared with Crossing Rubicon. The writing ranges from hard, heavy songs in the manner of Judas Priest to others closer to Dio or Winger. Frontiers released it worldwide on 13 September 2024 and Ward Records issued the Japanese edition, GQCS-91506, the same day — eleven songs plus an acoustic "Fall Back Now" found only in Japan, about 57 minutes. An official video for "Hit & Run" preceded the album and a lyric video for "Soul Screamer" followed it.
