The Mars Volta's live album Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business is made of performances the band's fans voted for, and InsideOutMusic releases it on 20 November 2026. The takes come from the autumn 2025 North American tour, on which the songs of that year's studio album, Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío, were played in heavily rearranged form. The vote began with a countdown on a standalone website; when it ended on 9 June 2026, listeners could preview several performances of each song and pick the one for the record, each track shown as a symbol for the city where it was captured. It is the group's first official live release since Scabdates in 2005 and its first album for InsideOutMusic, the progressive label within Sony Music. Announced for 4 September (digital) and 16 October (CD and vinyl), it was later moved to 20 November in every format. "Cue the Sun / Alba Del Orate" came with the announcement on 1 July, and "Reina Tormenta / Enlazan Las Tinieblas" on 8 September, as the band opened a North American tour at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, California. Both advance tracks credit Omar Rodríguez-López as producer, with Robert Carranza mixing and Howie Weinberg and Will Borza mastering. The import CD is a six-panel digipak with a 12-page booklet (19958464732). Sony Music Japan's Blu-spec CD2 edition, SICP-31875, is out the same day and adds a previously unreleased song found on no other edition.
