We Are Shadows - The Covers EP

The Halo Effect's We Are Shadows - The Covers EP gathers five songs, one chosen by each member of the Swedish band made up of former In Flames members: singer Mikael Stanne, guitarists Jesper Strömblad and Niclas Engelin, bassist Peter Iwers and drummer Daniel Svensson. Nuclear Blast released it on 21 November 2025, and Trooper Entertainment put it out in Japan the same day (QATE-10151) to mark the band's headline shows at Shinsaibashi BIGCAT in Osaka on 25 November and Toyosu PIT in Tokyo on 26 November, five tracks in about 22 minutes. Two of the five are Swedish songs: Kent's "If You Were Here" ("Om Du Var Här" in the original Swedish), which Blabbermouth says Iwers chose, and "Shoreline", a 2003 song by the Gothenburg band Broder Daniel that Nuclear Blast names as Svensson's pick. The others are W.A.S.P.'s "I Wanna Be Somebody" from 1984, chosen by Strömblad, and Danzig's "How The Gods Kill", chosen by Stanne, both according to Blabbermouth, plus Phenomena's "Dance With The Devil", which Engelin discusses in a clip the band has posted. The EP follows the albums Days Of The Lost from 2022 and March Of The Unheard from January 2025. Nuclear Blast Records has posted a music video for "If You Were Here" and visualizers for the other four songs.
