March of the Unheard, the second album by The Halo Effect, arrived on 10 January 2025 through Nuclear Blast, with Trooper Entertainment issuing the Japanese CD (QATE-10148) the same day. Five musicians with In Flames in their past make up the band, all of them from Gothenburg: founder Jesper Stromblad on guitar, Peter Iwers on bass, Daniel Svensson on drums, Niclas Engelin on guitar, and Mikael Stanne, who sang on the first In Flames record and now fronts Dark Tranquillity, on vocals. Two and a half years after Days of the Lost, the twelve songs of the album proper again aim at the Gothenburg melodic death metal the members helped shape in the early 1990s, played with a modern weight. The Japanese pressing adds three tracks: "Not Yet Broken", written for this edition, plus the standalone singles of 2023 and 2024. Four songs have music videos and the Japanese bonus track has a visualizer.
