LINER NOTES
Morning Nautical Twilight is the third full-length by STORMRULER, the Missouri black metal duo of Jason Asberry (guitar, vocals) and Jesse Schobel (drums), and their first for Distortion Music Group, with whom they signed a worldwide deal in 2026 after two albums on Napalm Records, Under The Burning Eclipse (2021) and Sacred Rites & Black Magick (2022). Its fourteen tracks, a prologue, twelve chapters and an epilogue, tell one story set in an invented world called Aurelia, over some seventy-six minutes; the title chapter alone runs past thirteen. The label places it on a melodic black metal foundation, with elements of power, progressive and death metal and dungeon synth.
"Chapter II. In The Eye Of Umbria" was released in September 2026 as the album's advance track. "The Dark Age Of Deception", the single and lyric video that opened the band's DMG era on 28 August 2026, stands apart and is not on the record. Ward Records' Japanese edition (GQCS-91801), with Japanese liner notes and lyric translations, shares the worldwide date of 4 December 2026 with DMG's CD and a limited double LP that comes with a folded A3 poster.
