Sólstafir's Hin helga kvöl ("The Holy Suffering") came out on Century Media Records on 8 November 2024 and reached Japan through Ward Records on 3 December 2025 (GQCS-91699, with Japanese liner notes). Ward counts it as the Icelandic band's eighth studio album and their first for Century Media after a long stay with Season of Mist, and says the songs are shorter than the ten-minute epics the band is known for, with double bass, saxophone and a female voice in the arrangements. The band was formed in 1995, and the "Vor ás" visualizer credits Aðalbjörn Tryggvason on guitar and vocals, Sæþór Maríus Sæþórsson on guitar, Svavar Austmann on bass and Hallgrímur Jón Hallgrímsson on drums and backing vocals. The nine songs last about 48 minutes; the title track has an official video directed by Karl Ágúst Guðmundsson, "Hún andar" and "Blakkrakki" have videos of their own, and "Vor ás" got a visualizer.
