APARADOXIA

APARADOXIA is the second full-length album by the Japanese band SLOTHREAT, and its first record for Marquee's AVALON label. The Japanese CD (MICL-20015), dated 9 September 2026, holds eighteen tracks and about 64 minutes: the ten-song album, which reached streaming services the same day, then instrumental versions of eight of those songs as bonus tracks. It came roughly six years after their first full-length album, THEMIS, released by Wolves anchor DC in September 2020, and Marquee's notes build it on a base of modern metalcore and post-hardcore. Three earlier songs return in "APARADOXIA Version" form: "Harmonize", a single in October 2021, "Rebels", which joined it on the Asymmetrical Harmony release the following month, and "Luminous Cave", a digital single from June 2025. "Null Devotion" went out ahead of the album on 26 August 2026, and its credits name guitarist Katsuya as composer, producer, engineer, mixer and mastering engineer, with lyrics by singer KAZ. Katsuya wrote the music for the whole record, sharing the 72-second opener "Pale Undertow" with his twin brother, guitarist Takaya; KAZ wrote most of the words, and Kneeya of ovEnola sings on "Fractured Aether". Katsuya spent several years assembling the group before it started in March 2019 with Seki on bass, and the mini-album Allium followed that April. Drummer SHINYA, a full member from May 2020, played his last show with them on 30 August 2025, and Toshiya Sato of Sailing Before The Wind took over the drum stool on stage from 13 September 2025 as a support player. The band announced the AVALON deal on 12 October 2025.
