The Withering of the Blue Flower is the second album by Silent Revenants, a German six-piece who play melodic symphonic metal with a female lead voice and violin running through every track. They started in 2015 as a five-piece playing straightforward heavy metal and released the EP Every Dream the same year; guitarist and main songwriter Julian Kirschbaum then pushed for something more adventurous, brought in violin and bagpipes, and the first album Walk With Fire followed, with orchestral melody, sharp guitar, a rhythm section built on groove and powerful singing on top. Classical and folk elements shape the writing. The band have opened for Fields of the Nephilim on a German tour and work steadily through festivals and clubs at home. The album appeared on 13 October 2023, and Wormholedeath Japan issued the Japanese-packaged import (BITX-1371) on 30 April 2025. Ten tracks.
