Nemesis A.D. is the eighth Serenity album and the first with Marco Pastorino of Temperance and Fallen Sanctuary in the band. The advance single "Ritter, Tod und Teufel (Knightfall)" takes its title from Albrecht Dürer's engraving, and the video was built around that image. Most Serenity records are set on a historical subject or a story, with the songs written to follow it — intricate, dramatic, carried on melodies that rise and fall with the narrative — and it is that literary streak as much as the writing that has kept them apart from the rest of symphonic metal for twenty years. Roy Khan, formerly of Kamelot and now of Conception, Daniele Mazza of Ancient Bards and Firewind's Henning Basse all guest. Marquee Inc. released the Japanese edition on 25 October 2023 as MICP-11799, ahead of the international release on 3 November. Eleven tracks.
