Satanic North is the debut album by the band of that name, which Petri Lindroos and Janne Parviainen — the singer and the drummer of the Finnish folk metal band Ensiferum — started entirely in earnest, whatever the name suggests. They perform under the aliases Von Occult, Skomoroh, IIT Caprae and Abysiir. Lindroos has said he had never done black metal this straight before, and that what he took from is the magic the style had in the early 1990s; the brief he set for the record was no mid-tempo, blast beats above all. What came out is a frozen, Immortal-and-Emperor-facing album. Reaper Entertainment and Ward Records in Japan released it on the same day, 19 April 2024, the Japanese edition as GQCS-91454. Ten tracks, about thirty-eight minutes.
