The Ones We Follow

Reigning Phoenix Music release the fourth Sarcator album worldwide on 30 October 2026, and Ward Records' Japanese edition lands the same day, carrying a Japanese commentary booklet and translated lyrics; its ten titles are the ones the import has, with no bonus track. The Swedish band formed in 2018 around Mateo Tervonen, who sings and plays guitar, and reached this record by way of Sarcator (2020), Alkahest (2022) and Swarming Angels & Flies (2025), taking a P3 Guld nomination and a Grammis nomination and touring with Hellripper, 1349 and Midnight along the way. It was recorded at Studio-MT in Trollhättan; Marko Tervonen produced, mixed and mastered it, and Affe Piran drew the sleeve. The label names four players — Tervonen, Leo Buchalle on guitar, Jesper Rosén on drums, and Linus Edmarker, who joins on bass for this album — where Ward Records credit only the first three. The band say they begin from what a song needs rather than from which genre they belong to, and have their own name for the result: death's rock. Two songs went out ahead of the album with videos, the title track in July and "In Search of Oblivion" in August. Ten songs.
