Nine

Russian Circles are an instrumental band formed in Chicago, Illinois in late 2004. "Nine" is their ninth studio album, following "Gnosis" (2022), and runs to seven tracks. Sargent House issues it internationally on 28 August 2026; Daymare Recordings releases the Japanese edition on 23 September 2026 as DYMC434. The line-up is Mike Sullivan (guitar), Brian Cook (bass and keyboards, a full member since 2007) and Dave Turncrantz (drums). As on their recent records, Kurt Ballou of Converge engineered and mixed the album: basic tracking was done at Electrical Audio in Chicago and finished at Ballou's God City Studio in Salem, Massachusetts. "Arletta" was recorded separately by Dave Catching at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California, and Alan Douches mastered the record at West West Side Music. Two tracks appeared ahead of release — "Empath", with a video directed by Madeline Hampton, on 24 June 2026, and "Eluvial" on 22 July 2026.
