The Dark Side of the Moon Redux is Roger Waters rereading the album he largely wrote fifty years after Pink Floyd recorded it. He was twenty-nine then; at eighty he has rebuilt all ten songs, taken the lyrics apart and put them back with the perspective of the intervening half-century, and sequenced them to run seamlessly as one long piece, exactly as the original does. He produced it with Gus Seyffert, stripping away Pink Floyd's psychedelic orchestration for something rawer and more exposed. "I'm very proud of it," he said of the result — a record he felt could stand beside the original across fifty years rather than behind it. Ultra-Vybe released the Japanese edition on 6 October 2023 as SGB50CDJ, the same day as Cooking Vinyl's. Ten tracks, about forty-eight minutes.
