Robin McAuley has sung for a long list of bands — the McAuley Schenker Group with Michael Schenker, Black Swan with Reb Beach, Survivor — and Soulbound is his first solo record in two years. He describes it as a harder, more guitar-led album than the two before it, and the production bears that out: Aldo Lonobile, the guitarist known from Secret Sphere and Sunstorm, produced it and plays on it alongside an Italian band. Frontiers Records released it on 28 February 2025 and Ward Records issued the Japanese CD (GQCS-91564) the same day, adding an alternative mix of "Crazy" as a Japan-only bonus track for twelve tracks and forty-eight minutes, with a commentary booklet and translated lyrics. "'Til I Die" has an official video, "Soulbound" a lyric video, and two more songs have visualizers.
