Extinction is the third full-length by Plague of Stars, a five-piece from Minneapolis formed in 2012. A powerful clean female lead voice sits at the centre of the record, and around it the band build a mix of doom, black and gothic metal that is aggressive without giving up melody. Nine tracks, with Melissa Ferlaak guesting on the title song. The album came out on 31 January 2025, and Wormholedeath Japan issued the Japanese-packaged import (BITX-1370) on 30 April. "Gods of Old" has an official video.
