Mogg's Motel

Mogg's Motel is the first album by the band Phil Mogg put together after UFO, the British hard rock group he fronted for more than fifty years, played its last shows. Neil Carter, his long-serving UFO bandmate, plays guitar, keyboards and much else and co-wrote several of the songs; the rest of the line-up comes from the English band Voodoo Six — Tony Newton on bass and guitar, Joe Lazarus on drums and percussion and Tommy Gentry on guitar. The writing keeps the sturdy riffing of both bands under the damp, minor-key melodies that mark British rock of Mogg's generation. SPV/Steamhammer and Cleopatra released it on 6 September 2024, the American Cleopatra pressing carrying a thirteenth track, "Taylors Woods", that no other edition has; Marquee issued the Japanese edition, MICP-11907, the same day with the standard twelve tracks, about 53 minutes. Charlie Smith of Mind Art Visual directed, filmed and edited the videos for "Apple Pie" and "Sunny Side Of Heaven".
