Sun God is the first Paracrona album: nine songs of death and black metal with melody run through them, made by a five-piece based in Oslo. Ringo Christiaan Van Droffelaar, who sings, and the lead guitarist Øystein Hansen met by chance at Wacken Open Air in 2007 and built the band around themselves. Recording began in the autumn of 2016 and stopped in 2021 when Van Droffelaar fell ill; Fredrik Nordström, the Swedish producer behind Arch Enemy, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, mixed and mastered it and saw it finished. Their first music video, for "Carry The Cross", came in the summer of 2022 with Baard Kolstad guesting on it. Audun Melby plays rhythm guitar, Laszlo Juhos drums and Gregg Roland Schneider bass. The album appeared abroad on 12 April 2024, and WormHoleDeath Japan issued the Japanese-packaged import (BITX-1349) on 27 December 2024. The label also made lyric videos for the title track and "River of Pain".
