LINER NOTES
Osyron is the self-titled album of the Calgary progressive metal band OSYRON and their first for Distortion Music Group, after Harbinger (2013), Kingsbane (2017), Foundations (2020) and Momentous (2022). The band grew out of one that Bobby Harley and Krzysztof Stalmach formed as teenagers and took its present name in 2012. Reed Alton sings, Stalmach and Harley play guitar, Tyler Corbett bass and Cody Anstey drums; they have shared stages with Judas Priest, Nightwish, Kamelot and DragonForce among others, and were nominated for Metal Band of the Year at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards.
The band say the nine songs come from the members' own lives and turn on the idea of telos, an ultimate aim, which also names the opening track; Ward Records calls the album their heaviest yet. "Higher" in September and "Telos" in October 2026 came out first, both with music videos; by the credits the label printed with those songs, the band recorded at Crooks Hollow Studio with Murray Emery and at CLARITY Studios with Anstey, Corbett mixed, and Mika Jussila mastered at Finnvox. Ward Records' Japanese edition (GQCS-91800), with Japanese liner notes and lyric translations, shares the worldwide date of 27 November 2026 with the label's CD and a gold vinyl LP.
