Ophidian Memory's Carrion Lord first appeared on 27 September 2024 and reached CD through Wormholedeath on 21 March 2025; Wormholedeath Japan's imported edition with Japanese specifications (BITX1405) followed on 31 October 2025, ten tracks in about 55 minutes. The project belongs to Blake Lamoureux of Des Moines, Iowa, whose Bandcamp credits show him handling vocals, lyrics, guitars, bass, keyboards, didgeridoo and programmed drums plus the recording, mixing and production, with Rick Stallkamp mastering and Caelan Stokkermans providing the artwork and logo. Built on melodic death metal laced with thrash, black metal, metalcore and progressive metal, it is his third studio album, after a 2021 EP, The Stag and Our Shattered Garden, and a prequel set over a thousand years before those two, Kronos Mortus News reports. Lamoureux has said the lyrics deal with deception, sacrifice, horror and war, and that the progressive side stays in the background until late in the record. Wormholedeath posted a lyric video for "Hunger of Your Deceased Deity", made by Volume Agency.
