...And Then, The Abusement Park Left Town is the first album by Nekomata, a metalcore band from Milan named after the forked-tailed cat yokai of Japanese folklore and ghost stories. Andrea Cappellari, once guitarist in the Italian power metal band Skeletoon, and Filippo Zavattari, once bassist in Frozen Crown, started the group as Kasha; singer Andrea Olivieri and drummer Alberto Mezzanotte -- who left Frozen Crown around the same time as Zavattari -- completed it, and it became Nekomata in 2021. Destructive, melodic riffing on extended-range guitars runs against wailing growls and a clean voice full of grief: metalcore with power metal inside it. The Japanese edition adds "Aka no Joou no Shouzouga", a Japanese-language version exclusive to it. Ward Records released it on 22 December 2023 as GQCS-91412, after the original of 31 October 2022. Twelve tracks, about fifty-four minutes.
