Narnia began in 1996, started by singer Christian Liljegren and guitarist CJ Grimmark, who met in Jönköping in southern Sweden in 1993, and their debut Awakening came out in Japan on Pony Canyon in July 1997, ahead of a European edition on Nuclear Blast. X is their tenth studio album, marks thirty years of the band, and their first since Ghost Town in 2023. It arrived on 29 May 2026 on Narnia Songs through Sound Pollution Distribution, and in Japan on 12 June 2026 through Bickee Music (BKMY1150). Grimmark produced and mixed it at The Lighthouse in Norway; recording also took place at Old Barn Drum Studio and JONO Studios in Sweden, and Thomas Plec Johansson mastered it at Studio Bohus. The cover art is by bassist Jonatan Samuelsson. Liljegren carries most of the album; Grimmark takes the lead vocal on God Under Fire and The Man from Nazareth, Pt. II and Samuelsson on Remedy (SOS) and Jerusalem. The Man from Nazareth, Pt. II continues a song from Enter the Gate (2006), and the brief The War that Tore the Land (Reprise) revisits 2019's From Darkness to Light. Oceanwide was the first single, on 4 April 2026, and a Samuelsson-animated video for Jerusalem followed on 15 May. Ten songs.
