Karma

Karma is the sixth album by Myrath, the Tunisian progressive metal band, and their first in five years. They started as X-Tazy in 2001, took the present name in 2006 and debuted the following year with Hope. Legacy in 2016 brought in a string section and the Arabic ney and made no secret of where the band comes from; it also won them their deal with earMUSIC. Elyes Bouchoucha, the keyboard player who had shaped much of their writing, left in 2020, and Kevin Codfert, formerly of Adagio and an old hand with this band, took the seat. During the pandemic, stranded in the south of France for six months after Germany closed its borders while they were on tour, the five of them wrote together in one place for the first time rather than mailing files back and forth. Three outside writers supplied lyrics about racism, climate change and the unsteadiness of the mind. Ward Records issued the Japanese edition on 8 March 2024. Eleven tracks, about forty-eight minutes.
