Theatre of Pain, Mötley Crüe's third album, turned 40: BMG issued a newly remastered 40th Anniversary Edition CD on 14 November 2025, and Universal Music Japan followed with a cardboard-sleeve SHM-CD (UICB-15008) on 14 January 2026.

Theatre of Pain, Mötley Crüe's third album, turned 40: BMG issued a newly remastered 40th Anniversary Edition CD on 14 November 2025, and Universal Music Japan followed with a cardboard-sleeve SHM-CD (UICB-15008) on 14 January 2026. After the ten songs, among them "Smokin' In The Boys Room" and "Home Sweet Home", come live versions of those two from Long Beach, which CDJapan lists as bonus tracks of the Japanese edition and the limited overseas editions. According to the Japanese release notes, the 1985 record reached No. 6 in the US and has gone four times platinum there and three times in Canada. For the anniversary the band also announced a deluxe box set that puts the remastered album on colour vinyl next to a previously unreleased 1985 Long Beach concert, a rare demos LP and a 76-page hardcover book; the band's channel also carries the official "Home Sweet Home" video and an HD remaster of "Smokin' In The Boys Room".
