Myrsky

Myrsky is the new album by Mokoma, four years on from the last. The Finnish band began in 1996 as a solo undertaking by Marko Annala (guitar and vocals), debuted with Valu in 1998, and had become a thrash metal band by the time of their third record, Kurimus, in 2003. The title is the Finnish word for storm. Melancholy melody of a distinctly Nordic kind sits beside an aggression that comes from death metal, the playing is as tight as it has always been, and every lyric is again in Finnish. They have visited Japan five times, Loud Park 2013 among them, most recently in April 2023 alongside their allies Stam1na. Ward Records issued the Japanese edition on 8 March 2024. Eleven tracks, about thirty-eight minutes.
