Seven years after Beast Reborn, the German melodic power metal band Mob Rules returned with Rise of the Ruler, released by ROAR and by Ward Records in Japan on the same day, 22 August 2025. The Japanese edition is GQCS-91642 — eleven tracks, about 47 minutes, with a booklet and translated lyrics. The band took its name from a Black Sabbath album, formed in 1994 and, as the Japanese label tells it, debuted with Savage Land in 1999 before building a following across Europe on a record every few years. This one is a concept album set in a dystopia. Of the advance track "Back To Savage Land", the band explained that it picks up the story running through their first two albums, following a group making the dangerous journey back to the abandoned homeland of the title. Four songs have videos on the label's channel.
