Mister Misery is the self-titled third album by the Swedish horror and gothic metal band of the same name, formed in 2018, and their first in three years. Arising Empire released their debut Unalive in 2019; the make-up and the glamorous look brought them a following, and after A Brighter Side of Death in 2021 they played festivals including Wacken Open Air and opened for Nightwish and Dream Theater. This record is their first for AFM Records and takes the band name as its title. It is modern gothic metal built on singalong choruses and taut riffing, with something of early Black Veil Brides about it. The album came out internationally on 2 August 2024; Ward Records issued the Japanese edition on 15 November as GQCS-91531. Twelve tracks, with official music videos for Root of All Evil and Survival of the Sickest.
