The Second 1 is the fifth solo album by Mikael Erlandsson, the Swedish singer and songwriter best known as the frontman of Autumn's Child, and his first under his own name in twenty-two years. The title says what it is: a record made in the shadow of The One, his first album, which Scandinavian melodic hard rock still treats as a landmark. Under the Sun, Unfamiliar and The Gift came between them. From 2003 he ran Last Autumn's Dream with Andy Malecek, once of Fair Warning, putting out an album a year through changing line-ups until 2018, and since 2019 he has led Autumn's Child. Here he sings and plays keyboards and guitar, with Mats "MP" Persson on bass and guitar, Rasmus Ehrnborn on guitar, Martin Olsson on bass and Richard Johnsson on drums. Marquee Avalon issued the Japanese CD (MICP-11928) first, on 25 December 2024, with "This Town" added as a bonus track for that edition; Pride & Joy Music released the eleven-track international version on 24 January 2025. The label put two songs up as official audio.
