Reload (Remastered)

ReLoad was Metallica's seventh studio album, released on 18 November 1997. Universal Music describe the sessions behind it, shared with its predecessor Load (1996), as running from 1995 to 1997 at The Plant in Sausalito, California, with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Jason Newsted working under producer Bob Rock. Marianne Faithfull guests on vocals on "The Memory Remains", and hurdy-gurdy and violin appear on "Low Man's Lyric". The label also state that the record entered the US chart at number one, a third consecutive number-one debut, and reached number one in six countries. "Better Than You" won Best Metal Performance at the 41st Grammy Awards. Reuben Cohen remastered it at Lurssen Mastering, overseen by Greg Fidelman, for a 26 June 2026 release. The single-CD edition here is pressed on SHM-CD for Japan; a three-CD Remastered Deluxe adding unreleased riffs, demos, rough mixes and live recordings shares its date. Other formats include 180g double vinyl, cassette, digital with an Atmos spatial mix, and a numbered box set of vinyl, fifteen CDs, four DVDs and a 128-page book.
