Babylon is the latest Lynch Mob studio album — the band George Lynch put together after leaving Dokken, and one Japan has always taken seriously. The classic rock, blues and metal he grew up on are all audible in what he writes, and his playing here has the weathered quality his admirers come for. In 2020 the band marked thirty years of their debut by re-recording it as Wicked Sensation Reimagined, some songs faithful to the originals and others taken somewhere else entirely. Lynch then announced in 2021 that the name Lynch Mob no longer belonged in the present day and renamed the band Electric Freedom; when that did not get far he reverted. Jimmy D'Anda on drums, Jaron Gulino on bass and Gabriel Colón singing all carry over from that line-up. Marquee Inc. released the Japanese edition on 27 October 2023 as MICP-11828, a week after the international one, adding one bonus track for eleven in all.
